Karin's Mashup

After listening to all the mashup of my classmates I concluded that Karin's was the best. He made really cool combos and mixed the songs almost perfectly. He has really good tempo and the sound is just great. I am not saiyng that the rest of the mashups were bad but Karin's beat them all. I heard his first, then I made mine but it didnt sound anything alike. Anyway, I think the part that I like the most is when theres an echo and then the song changes and the rythm.

Danger Mouse

Brian Joseph Burton, better known as "Danger Mouse", was a musician, songwriter and producer. He was born in July 29, 1977. He was also born in White Plains, New York, but he spent much of his childhood in Spring Valley. Burton is actually 40 years old but he is nominated for the Grammies. He has won many Grammy Awards for his talented music before. By far, he is considered one of the best songwriters. Anyway, one of his most famous album was the Grey Album. This one was launched in 2004.

The Grey Album was a really great mash up. It used a capella version of rapper Jay-z. It quickly became popular and well known in the internet because of the publicity. The video was very famous too. It took hard work and lots of time. The video was made in autumn 2004. The directors of this video are Ramon and Pedro. They were the ones who decided to make the video entirely in black and white.

Water Pollution/ Earth Day

WATER POLLUTION

I think that water pollution is the worst environmental issue we are facing in these days. Many countries are suffering because of this. Only three percent of all water in earth is drinkable and most of it is frozen. Now imagine how much time we have left until we pollute that three small percent that we have left. If we keep throwing wastes to the rivers and the ocean, we are going to reach a time were there is going to be no drinkable water at all. We must be smart with this problem and try to maintain it stable.

Water gets polluted when large amounts of material are added in the water. This happens very often in our planet. There are many causes of water pollution. Some of the types are toxic wastes and organic substances. However the sources of them are farms, businesses and homes. These are the sources that contaminate the most.

Farming contaminates a lot because they use dangerous chemicals that are finally washed away into the waterways. Industrial and power plants throw their waste heat into rivers and streams that are nearby. The problem with this is that thermal pollution can occur, which consists in temperature rising and decrease of oxygen, causing animals to die. Finally, homes contaminate with all the fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides used for lawn that get in waterways.

In conclusion, I think we should start focusing on this problem and make a change fast because if we dont, the next generations are going to suffer because of our fault. Lets face it, everyone wants and should live in a clean planet. We need to stop wasting time on useless things and concentrate on the mortal issues we are having lately.

The ball is going to hit from the left. After that a person is going to come out of the ball and fight me. We are going to fight for a while and then im going to rip the guys arm off. The arm is going to turn into a rocket launcher. Then, the gun is going to take over my body and turn me into some sort of monster. After a few seconds, im going to take the monster inside of me out and turn it back into a small ball. Im going to draw me very etailed and my background is going to change twice.

This is graph is my favourite one since it displays the total number of scores that I had in Q1 and Q2. It is simple and very easy to understand. It also shows gross speed, net speed and accuracy.

The chart on the right shows my gross speed in that I scored in Q1. I chose it because its precise and its easy to understand.

This green chart is the most simple one of all three. Its also precise and displays my net speed in Q1.

My Vacation 2011

My vacation weren't very cool but they are not bad either. Like always, they started pretty normal. I took my first three days sitting on my couch watching t.v and playing Xbox 360. For a couple of days I was anxious for christmas to come but after a few hours I noticed it wasnt that exciting since my cousins were not coming to town. Anyways, I went to a professional basketball court with some friends of mine to play. I did this for like four days straight. In conclusion, my first week of vacation was okay.

In Christmas some of my cousins came to my house to celebrate with me and my family. We had such a good time. I think that day was the best part of my vacation. Everyone had their presents but mine was seriously th best. I got an amplifier for my electric guitar. Its huge since it has 75w. The party ended at 6 am but I went to bed by 4 am. The next day I decided to learn a new song of my favourite band; this song is called bat country. It took me a whule before I could play it perfectly. In new years I went to my friends house and after that i decided to dunk some basketballs.

Reflective statement

My stop motion project was little boring although it took me 5 seconds to decide what to do. I was focused on what I wanted to do, my idea didnt changed at all, I always wanted to create a top becoming a granade. The most challenging part that I faced was to erase and to draw again and again for 7 days straight. I dont mind this because after all, I did enjoyed it, it was pretty cool seeing how it worked. If I needed to change something about it, it would be the camera moving. Although I love animation I woulndt choose it as a career because I prefer doing other stuff.

My Thoughts about how aspv teaches us about technology

Aspv does a good job on teaching students about technology. I cant really see if the way they do it is good or bad, I just really dont care. I think it is okay how Mr. Picketts shows us how to use some applications in the computer. He is a really good teacher. Without him, I wouldnt know how to even use blogger, or powerschool.

Another good thing that our teacher do is to explain us how to prevent cyberbullies. Thi is good to know, because if you give them your attention you will end up being sad. Anyways, this is something that is really sad and true. As I was saying, the teachers do very good.

In conclusion, ASPV give us good knowledge about technology. The only thing that sucks that they make us do is typing test. I think is kind of wierd, because we do blog posts, and that improves our writing skills. So, I don see the point of doing the typing test, its just a waste of time.

Julian's Medium

Im going to use pencil for my stop motion. I was going to bring plasticine, but then I realized I was going to take too long. Anyways, Im going to convert a top into a hand grenade by drawing and erasing everytime I take a picture. I chose this medium because I dindt had anything else in mind. I was considering doing a cherry turning to a grenade but I found it really hard. I think copying the drawings with a slightly difference each time, is going to be my biggest challenge.

Stop motion

I loved all stop motion videos. If someone asks me what stop motion means, I think I would answer that they're videos that are made of cointinous pictures , and then put in together to form a video. These films that I saw give a certain feeling, depending on the video. In my opinion, the paper day video, was kind of sad. I think people like to create videos in stop motion, because its more admirable because takes more time. Also, because its the only way to make something move without using your hand, if you are not a professional.

William Kentridge by: Julian

William is an excellent artist that expresses things by drawing stuff. I got really amazed how he uses charcoal to make his films. Some of his work makes me feel a little sad, since he draws kind of sad faces. In his artwork, the mine, his drawings are very unhappy, or at least thats the feeling that I had. One of his films that really caught my attention was Five Themes. That paint, has a meaning although is hard to know what it is. Anyways, I think that was my favourite of all three .

I really dont know how could I explain his art work to someone that was blind. All I can say, is that he uses charcoal, sometimes pastel and colored pencils to draw his stop motions. They are random, and kind of scary, but it explains somehow, how real life is. It also tells the feelings he has. I think his arts are almost like poetry.

Mash-ups

A Mashup is a song or composition that use two or more songs that already existed to create a new one. They are different tyoes of mashups. A good mashup is made with tempo and edited good so that the voice of the singers can be heard clearly. Anyways, a bad mashup normally will not have good combination of songs or it would just be a mess. I think people who make mashups are really musicians. It isn't easy to create these somgs. It needs lots of practice and good taste of music. Mashup are really cool whe they are created correctly

artifact of the future

To make my stoned cat look real, I went to a lot of processes. First of all, I searched for cat's body parts, that had reddish fur. Then I cut them and paste them in my stoned cat monument. I changed their size and sometimes their color too. I also change their layer to multiply and paste some cracks from the internet. Anyways, what I liked about doing this project is making the cat look like if it were coming out of the stone. What I didn't like was going through all processes.

I really like this project since I find it funny and a little bit foolish. I really like the way he came up with the idea. To me, the wave controler board looks kind of real. The thing that I admire about his project is the way he pasted someones head in a lego's body.

I really think this artifact is going to be in the future. If I had money I would buy it since I surf. This would a really good business. The people who buy it woul use either for skying or for surfing. I definitely would buy it, specially for the lego man.

Artifact From the Future: Stoned Cat

Ichose the "stoned reality one because its really original. Since im obsessed with animals, I found this picture really cool. I think doing this will make me improve my photoshop working. Anyways, I chose this one because I think in the future monuments wont be the same as now, they will be made differently and with more originality. So, basically, style will have a twist. I will use another animal for this project.

family tree

A memorable day is chrismas. My family and I gather together in my house to celebrate it. I love this day because we all have fun and trade presents. My cousins even come from different states just to see us. At the end of the day we all end up eating a turkey for dinner. In conclusion this is one of my favourite days of all.

I chose this frame for me because it makes me look unique and different from my other family members. I also liked it because, since its different it looks independent, just how I am. I think it describes really well.

I chose this wooden frame for my brother and my cousins generation because they all look the same. This frame represents how i love each one of them equally. Also, since its really well carved, it showa how special they are for me.

I chose this picture for following reasons. First of all this tree reminds me whe i was 6. My family and I used to go to store and by some paintings. This painting looks almost exactly as the one we used to have. They use to broke or scratch somehow, but not the pink-tree one. Anyways, every day that we see it, it would bring us good luck for the rest of the day. The bad thing is that one day it suddenly dissapeared.

Spring Map Testing

Last tuesday every kid in the school took the map test. This is our second time doing it in this year because the last one was in October. Anyways, the teachers told us that if we reach higher scores than the ones that we had, they would let us bring normal close to school. Since they said that, everyone decided to put effort to it. Although we stressed out a lot, we liked it because we passed classes. My grades went very good this time. Normally I get very low scores, but this time I reached all of my scores. As you can see, im in a good mood now, and im ready for other map testings.
